61km 100% ride able 1121m Ascent 1368m descent
A down hill start kicked this stage off on a dusty, switched back jeep track. Although the climbs weren't long today the terrain was relentlessly up and down for 30km. Another hot day and steep climbing I was enjoying the variety of terrain but the heat was killing me! 30km in we were now on pavement and gravel road for another 30km. It was relentless, hot and punishing. Motivation was gone and no one else was in sight. A painful day which forced me to dig deep just to get through. The last 5km seemed to take forever but I eventually made it in. We're at the start of the Annapurna circuit and things are about to become more interesting. It's time to get familiar with hike a bike from here on in. The wind is blowing hard tonight, perhaps some weather is blowing in. We've down sized our packs as porters will be our baggage transfer. Jeremy will set out on foot but hoping to knock off the first 30km in a jeep. We are still hoping for some clearer Sky's as we've been stuck in a dusty haze these last 4 days. To the mountains we go. Nothing but Up UP UP...
3:19 22nd today's stage.
